He's trying...

Matthew has decided that he is ready to move!! And when I say move I mean GO!!! My little guy is such a sweet heart and I love him to pieces. He has recently started showing off his personality and he can be very LOUD. He also grabs anything in his reach and will not let go. So if that is your hair then sorry because the boy has a grip on him. He always has to have his hands busy. So he now plays with my hair or grabs hold of the back of my hair and just starts wiggling those little fingers. Its pretty sweet!! As I type this, MJ is in the swing trying to fall asleep and his arms are just a going. His eyes are closed but his hands just keep moving. I have been saying for a couple of weeks that when he can figure out how to crawl I am in for it. Cade never got into much... I didnt have to put safety things on cabinets, doors or put away things that he could break. (Now is a different story though). But Matthew just has a look in his eyes that lets me know he is ready to get his hands in everything he isnt supposed too! So here are some pictures of Matthew tonight trying to figure this whole crawling thing out..

Sleep.....

I just want to start by saying how important sleep is to me... I love my sleep. Cade slept through the night at a young age and it was interrupted when he got ear infections (six), RSV, Hand Foot and Mouth, stomach viurs and a few common colds. HA! Poor buddy, he seriously caught everything in his first year of life. Tubes really helped!! So by the time Matthew joined the Kinard crew we were all used to sleeping through the night. Matthew was such an easy baby, he slept through the night very early. He really made having two boys really easy!! He is still such a great little guy except for sleeping at night. I think we are up against some issues.... He loves his mommy so much that he is already having trouble leaving me. The past couple of Sundays they have had to come and get me because he was SO upset that they couldnt calm him down. Also, Matt and I left him with a close family friend and he had a freak out session with them. He definitely likes to have me in his sight that is for certain!! So due to the fact that we have two bedrooms and no closet space, Matthew is still sleeping in the pack and play right next to our bed. Cade is not ready for the toddler bed so he is still in the crib. Therefore, I think Matthew has become aware that I am right there next to him and he prefers it that way. He likes to make sure I am there7 to 8 times a night!!! Yes and that is not exaggerating!!!  In fact when I was telling Matt about our night, I told him it was a good night because he only got up at 2, 4, and 6. HA!! Needless to say at 6:00 AM I had no more energy to fight with him and I put him in the bed with us. Of course, as soon as I did that, he cuddled right up to me and slept til 8.
With all this said, he is cutting teeth and I really wish those little teeth would just come through already!! I am tired most days and I am just praying for some more sleep for MJ and I. We shall see...
I dont really have a place to put him and let him cry it out so hopefully after his teeth come in he will sleep better and we can eventually move the boys into the same room. On a side note...my mom and I just got their room all set up and it looks amazing!! Pictures to come soon :)

Welcome to July

Here is what we have been up too in the lovely month of July... We went to the beach on July 4th with the Giordano's and had a blast. It was so pretty and the kids had fun too!!

Six months

Matthew is 6 months old!! I cant believe that we are half way to a year. His little life is going by way to fast. I feel like Cade's first few months went by so slow probably because I was figuring out how to be a mom. And he was higher maintenance than Matthew is. At six months old he weighs 13 pounds and is wearing size 2 diapers and size 3-6 month clothes... Can we say Peanut?! He is still SOO sweet and just loves to watch Cade. He now is sitting up pretty well and Cade enjoys sitting with him and bringing him toys as well as feeding him puffs. Matthew is now sleeping without the swaddle (YAY) and each night gets better and better. He isnt using it at naps either and I am so glad he is adjusting. He sleeps on his belly in a fleece sleep sack. He is now eating rice cereal and has had baby food consisting of banana's, squash, carrots and apples. He likes it all. Have I mentioned that he is ready to eat food and give up on nursing?? Yes.. well he would rather eat food than nurse any day. Therefore, I pump most feedings but have spread his nursing out to every 4 hours and he gets 2 meals a day. Here is my peanut at six months...

Five months old..

I cant believe my peanut is 5 months old (five and half) already!! I know I am little late at posting this but better late than never, right?? Matthew is still wearing 3-6 month clothes and probably weighs 13 pounds. I still swaddle him, he breaks out when he is hungry but never fights going in it. He looks so cute in it, my little pea in his pod, ha! He still sleeps in our room because Cade is not ready for the toddler bed and its just easier for me to get him when he wakes up (only once a night) to just feed him and put him back in the pack and play. That way I dont have to get out of bed. He is still the sweetest little guy, he loves watching Cade and is reaching for toys and enjoys playing on the floor. He can roll from his stomach to his back and has almost mastered back to stomach. His smile melts my heart and is such a charmer!! Gosh I just LOVE this boy!! He has started to eat cereal at night and only at night!! The reason for this.... I tried giving it to him in the morning and it resulted in him not wanting to eat for 5.5 hours. I was in pain!! I let him splash in the pool today and he loved it. Cade kept bringing him toys and he really liked it. Cade is such a great big brother and loves Matthew so much. I think they are going to be best friends!!

 Cade has been talking about the "potty" so we thought we would get some training underwear. They are sports themed of course... I could just eat him up. He is getting a nice tan too :)
I am going to get better about taking more pictures... WE have just been way to busy! I am ready for some down time but with two boys... not likely!!

I forgot to do his four month update.... Here is my boy! He weighs 12 pounds and is in the 4%. He is still the sweetest boy and LOVES his mommy! He is goes down around 9 or 10 and sleeps til about 6 or 7. He is such a great sleeper and takes a long nap while Cade sleeps and little naps in the morning and evening. He has discovered toys and his toes. He loves to watch Cade and laughs at him ALL the time. Matthew has the sweetest laugh and it fits his personality. Tiny and little laugh just like him. Have I mentioned how much I love this boy?? 

 

The BIG 30!!

My dear husband just turned 30! When April came around Matt started to tell me how he DID NOT want to turn 30. I for one thought it was no big deal...turning 30..so what?? But to to him it was very sad to leave his twenties. Matt kept asking me "What is so great about turning 30?" Of course, at first, I would give him smart answers just to pick at him. But then I started to think about why I am not dreading turning 30 next year.... I AM SO HAPPY WITH MY LIFE!! I am married to the most awesome man and God made him just for me, I have the most amazing boys that I am completely in love with, I have  the best friends and family in the world and I am in love with Jesus more than I have ever been! Are you kidding me?? Who wouldnt want that?? In fact, a childhood friend of mine and I made a time capsule when we were 19. We wrote down what we were doing during that time and what we wanted by the time we were 30. Honestly, I cant remember exactly what mine says but I look forward to reading it!! So, I decided to get Matt a special gift to make the day more memorable. I made a reservation for him and his friend Kevin to fly a plane (with a pilot) at the Air Force Base the morning of his birthday. Matt was SO excited and had a blast, so did Kevin. And Matt got to fly the plane for a bit. He flew all over Charleston for about an hour and he is said it was amazing!! I of course asked him to take a picture and he didnt. Kevin did but I havent gotten one yet. But he had fun. Then we had a small party for him that night and here are the pics....

I love you Matt!! You work so hard so that I can stay at home and raise our boys and I am so grateful. I get to do what I have always wanted to because of you!! You always love me no matter what and I am so blessed that God brought us together. I pray that our boys turn out to be as amazing as you!! I pray that your 30's are the best years of your life!!! I love you so much!!!
